This Coralnet site is dedicated to the improvement and diffusion of technical and scientific information useful to site managers and scientists who process, employ or facilitate the acquisition of CORALNet Lidar's data. CORALNet is a national network of atmospheric probing lidars being developed by Prof. Kevin Strawbridge and his research team at Environment Canada. It is an innovative remote sensing network which employs an internet-based command system to monitor and control a sophisticated lidar probe. Its primary function of monitoring atmospheric aerosols provides important complementary data for AEROCAN : a national network of (aerosol measuring) CIMEL sunphotometers run by Environment Canada in partnership with Prof. Norm O'Neill's University of Sherbrooke research group.
